The cacao plant is abundant in Costa Rica. it is particularly important to indigenous communities who continue to use the cacao for plant medicine and spiritual practices.

This 10-day vacation experience will take you on a cultural ride from Tortuguero National Park on the Northern Caribbean Coast to Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge on the Southern Caribbean border! We will be immersed in the magnificent natural world that is Costa Rica’s Limon Province. From canal to cacao tours, waterfalls and kayaking you will meet yourself at the intersection of curiosity and adventure. The highlight of the experience is the annual Afro-Caribbean Day Parade and Festival in the port town, Puerto Limon—the heart of the African culture and heritage that gives this region of Costa Rica its vibrant culture and cuisine. We will, also, explore the land of the thriving indigenous peoples—Bri Bri. Learn about the cacao plant and its medicinal value and history and be enveloped in the culture. This all-inclusive transformative experience will connect you to the land, the culture, and the people. Treat yourself, and experience Costa Rica differently!
