the visionary behind the experience…

I have 25 years of experience teaching writing as a college English professor--a tool that I believe has the incredible power to initiate a process of healing. I am also a published author. In my first book, The Constant Sweetness Within, a collection of personal essays, poetry and photography, I share my story of courage and resilience. I found that the process of writing has allowed me to own and share my truth opening a pathway of healing for others. It is in this spirit that I was called to do this work, to share my map with other women. I am a teacher certified by the Trauma Resource Institute in the Community Resiliency Model®--a skill-based model focused on building resiliency in the nervous system, which aids individuals and communities in coming back to center in times of distress and trauma promoting an overall sense well-being. I am also a trained community organizer. Bringing people together for a purpose is my superpower. The larger purpose, I believe, is to help us all see ourselves in the other, the key to a compassionate and interdependent way of living.

COSTA RICA IS MY SPIRIT PLACE.

I have been traveling here since 2015. I have traveled to all seven provinces by car—alone, with my daughter in tow, and with other adventurous women. I have reached both coasts, the mountains and the jungles. I spent two sabbaticals here as a a college professor learning about sustainable agriculture and global leadership. My relocation here from the U.S. is a reflection of the connection that I have with the place, its people, and its culture. I am passionate about curating an experience here for you…off the beaten path.
